The scientific articles written by the members of Computer Engineering Subdepartment staff are published in the leading professional journals, such as «Applied and Computational Mathematics» (ISSN 1683-3511), «Proceedings of the Institute of Applied Mathematics» (ISSN 2225-0530), «Mathematical Machines and Systems», «Problems in Programming», «Cybernetics and Systems Analysis», «Ukrainian Journal of Physics», «Journal of Automation and Information Sciences» «Instruments and Experimental Techniques», «Physical Review B».
Two members of Department of Computer Engineering staff (Prof. S. D. Pogorilyi and Prof. V. A. L'vov) are the members of Spicial Scientific Councils on the Candidate and Doctor Theses Defense (in the V. M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine and Institute of Magnetism of NAS of Ukraine, respectively). One member of Computer Engineering Subdepartment staff (Docent Boyko Yu. V.) is a member of Scientific-Technical Council of the State Target Scientific-Technical Program on Adoption and Application of Grid Technologies in 2009 – 2013 and a member of Scientific-methodological Commission on Informatization and Computerization of Educational Institutions (Department of Primary and Secondary Education).
Realization of main scientific projects in the Computer Engineering Department:
- First segment of Ukrainian academic Grid-resources, which involves 5 computational Grid-clusters in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and institutes of NAS of Ukraine is developed
- The logic of schemas of the most widely used algorithms of routing in the wide networks (Intranets and Internet) are developed with help of the mathematical apparatus of systems of algorithmic algebras (in RIP, OSRF and other protocols)
- First Ukrainian computational cluster (supercomputer) is developed for the fundamental and applied scientific problems solving, which needs a lot of computer time and involves the data bulk
A postgraduate study in the Department of Computer Engineering provides the specialization in two scientific areas:
- 01.05.03 – Mathematical support and software for computers and computer systems
- 05.13.05 – Computer systems and components

The international conference "Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications" was held in the Baku University (COIA-2015, August 27-29, Baku, Azerbaijan). At this conference Prof. S. Pogorilyi gave an invited lecture on the combinatorial optimization.

Prof. V. L'vov and Prof. E. Cesari (University of Balearic Islands, Spain) carry out the joint researches starting from 2000 until now. Prof. V. L'vov attended the University of Balearic Islands eight times, on invitation of the Council of Government of the university. His last visit took place in January 2016.
